In her new novel, Ann Packer introduces us to a family caring for Claire when she nears the end of her life. Poignant, insightful and funny, the novel looks at caregiving from many points of view.
Ann Packer talks about her process in writing Some Bright Nowhere, a thoughtful novel that focuses on Claire’s husband Eliot, who is her primary caregiver. As Claire nears the end, she wants her old friends Michele and Holly to move in with her for her final weeks, and Eliot to move out. Eliot is then left to deal with the thoughts of his own complacence. Book sales and signings follow the program. This program is made possible by a grant from the Baltimore County Department of Aging’s Caregiver Support Program.
