Machaya is a nationally acclaimed band playing authentic klezmer, Yiddish, Israeli, international, swing, rock and classical music. The band masters the style, feeling and dynamism of authentic East European Jewish music. The band’s versatile musicians carry on an exciting dialogue in that freestyle improvisational mode that characterizes true klezmer music. Presented as part of the Yiddish Book Center's Public Libraries Program Between Two Worlds, in partnership with the American Library Association and funded by Lilly Endowment, Inc.
