In the United States Constitution, the First Amendment begins with: ”Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof...” Explore the intersection of politics and religion in the United States and discover how religious beliefs have shaped the political landscape of this country from its founding to current day. Develop your understanding of the sociology of religion, trends in religious demographics and party affiliation, and how religion informs public policy in the highest echelons of American government. Presented by John McTague, chair and professor at Towson University.
